VNG Turning Up the Heat: Night Run, Party and More!

Learn how this year's Plunge is turning up the heat!

Last year the Polar Plunge team was pumped to welcome back the Colony to the beach in typical Polar Plunge fashion. This year, we’re ready to “turn up the heat” with some additions to the weekend that we think will help you really Go for the Cold

5K Waddle/Run

The Polar Plunge race gets a new date, time and theme! This year’s run will take place on Friday, February 3 at 7 pm. The 5K Waddle/Run night race encourages participants to wear glowing, bright or neon clothing to light up the boardwalk along the way. Runner registration includes the race long-sleeve shirt, finisher medal and free access to the Pre-Plunge Party.

Pre-Plunge Party

It’s time for Plunge weekend to start with a party; specifically, a heated tent party! Friday night all are welcome to join in the celebrations starting at 7 pm. There will be food by Aloha Snacks, drinks by SmartMouth Brewing and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and exclusive merchandise! DJ Julian will bring the heat with the music until 10 pm.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 and all Waddle/Runners can enter for free while wearing their race bib.

It’s Go for Gold time! Plunge Saturday has a familiar schedule with a few extra rays of sunshine

The BIG change here is that the shivery sprint to the Atlantic starts at 1 pm instead of the prior 2 pm Plunge time. This allows for some extra sun to help defrost post-plunge.

Check out the official schedule of events here!

We can’t wait to get back on the beach with our favorite colony of supporters including the many Virginia Natural Gas team members who help make this event possible!
