New River Plunge February 23, 2019
After careful assessment of recent weather conditions, we have made the decision to cancel this Saturday’s New River Polar Plunge® Festival at Radford. The City of Radford, including Bisset Park and Dudley’s Landing, are currently under a flood watch, creating a hazard for plungers, volunteers and spectators.
While there will be no makeup date, Plungers are invited to a “Polar Celebration” from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 3 at Bisset Park, Shelter 1 (the shelter nearest the tunnel entrance to the park). During this time you can pick up any incentives, drop off any donations you may have and also join us for a cornhole tournament if your time allows. We will pair you up with some incredible athlete partners, too, if you’re up for the cornhole challenge!
We encourage you to continue fundraising – we are getting closer to our goal of $65,000 to support our amazing athletes. We will keep your fundraising page open and you can continue to earn “cool” incentives. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Special Olympics Virginia. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 540.951.2918 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
