What about shuttles and parking?
Parking at Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant is very limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking also will be available at a satellite lot two miles away. I registered on FirstGiving. Do I still need to visit the registration table?
If you have registered online via firstgiving, thank you! It is a great way to fundraise and also a registration day time saver! However, you still need to check in at registration when you arrive so you can pick up your plunger number, hand in any offline donations and pick up your COOL incentives!
I didn’t register online through firstgiving. Can I still plunge?
Of course! The more the merrier! You can register to plunge onsite at Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on plunge day. All you need is a $100 minimum donation and a pair of closed toed shoes.
Do you accept corporate matching gifts?
Matching gifts from your company will be happily accepted and encouraged. However, if you do not have the physical check on hand at the event or if it hasn’t been donated online via FirstGiving it cannot be counted toward our fundraising contest. The top individual fundraiser and the top fundraising team based on the money collected by 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2 will receive the top prizes.
What do I need to bring with me to the plunge?
The minimum you need to participate in the Tim’s Rivershore Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Virginia is a $100 donation and a pair of closed toed shoes. We do encourage bringing costumes, friends and family, and of course, additional donations!
Will there be a place for me to change after the plunge?
There will be warming tents on the beach with sectioned off changing areas for men and women. There are also porta-potties onsite as well.
