The (bow) ties that bind us.

4,781 chill seekers dashed and splashed at the 2015 Polar Plunge® Winter Fest in Virginia Beach Feb. 6-7, raising more than $1,180,000 (and counting!) for Special Olympics Virginia. You were bold, cold and wearing the gold this year! Way to go!

"Raising one million dollars for the fifth year in a row is incredible,” said Rick Jeffrey, Special Olympics Virginia president. “Our athletes face a number of foes and opponents each day but none is more pervasive than low expectations. The community’s support of events like the Polar Plunge® Winter Fest shows a commitment to celebrating what our athletes and communities can achieve when we play and live unified.”

Congratulations to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia Team True Blue (Virginia Department of Corrections) for taking home the largest law enforcement team prize with 103 members and $21,028.06 raised.

Come chill with us at the Polar Plunge® Winter Fest, Feb. 6-7 in Virginia Beach. This year, in addition to two days of cool events and a fantastic list of incentive prizes, we’re offering custom bow ties, too!

With your help, we can provide FREE programming to more children and adults with intellectual disabilities. So tie one on and join us today! Many thanks to our event sponsors.
