Highlander Polar Plunge Celebration

Take the Plunge Feb. 25 at Radford!

 

Thanks to the more than 240 plungers who raised more than $30,000 for Special Olympics Virginia at the 2012 Highlander Polar Plunge Celebration! Stay tuned to this page for more information about seizing the freeze in 2013!

Are you FAN enough?  Join us Feb. 25, 2012 at Radford for the Highlander Polar Plunge® Celebration benefiting Special Olympics Virginia.  For more information about participating, volunteering or sponsorship opportunities, e-mail Josh Walker or call him at 434.582.4712. You can register online through firstgiving; onsite registration for the event will take place Feb. 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. The actual Plunge will take place at 11:30 a.m.

Plungers must raise a minimum of $30 to participate, but Plungers who raise more than $30 become eligible for some "cool" prizes:

• $50 - Polar Plunge T-shirt (T-shirts also will be on sale at the event)
• $100 - Polar Plunge Towel

Prize packages also will be given (at 11:15 a.m.) to the top individual fundraiser, the top fundraising team and to the best costume. 

Don't miss the chance to "Plunge Your Prof!" How about raising money to Plunge your professor? Commit to raising $500 (either individually or as a team) and ask a professor, coach or administrator to plunge if you reach your goal!

After the Plunge, be sure to stick around and cheer on the Radford women’s and men’s basketball teams during their homecoming games at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.
