Form A Team

It takes only one person to inspire others to get involved. Experience the Plunge with your coworkers, family and friends and Plunge as a team. Here's how:

1. Recruit at least 9 people to join your team.

2. As team captain, register online. When you open the register link, select register for an event and follow the instructions. Firstgiving will ask you if you are part of a team, click yes and enter your team name.

3. Complete your registration by setting up your fundraising Web page through firstgiving. Click “Create a Fundraising Page” and follow the instructions.

4. Distribute plunger information to team members. Each plunger must register as an individual, but they should link themselves to your team. They can register online OR in person by downloading the registration form. You may also want to give each person a copy of the registration form to help manage cash and check donations. Make sure that each plunger has your team name on the forms.

5. Have your team members set up individual fundraising Web pages through firstgiving, too. Remember, each person must raise $100 to Plunge.

6. At the Plunge: determine if you will handle everything for your team, including picking up your team incentives and checking in the group, or if you will have each person do this themselves.

a. If you registered online, you (and your team members, if you choose) still need to bring the following to Plunge check-in (at the Ramada Inn on Plunge day from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)*:

i. Any cash/check donations
ii. A copy of the individual firstgiving Web pages only if people received donations after 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5

b. For those registering in person, bring the following to Plunge registration (at the Ramada Inn on Plunge day from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)*:

i. Registration form
ii. Signed waiver
iii. Your donations/pledges

* Remember, you also can drop off your registration forms and donations early to avoid long lines. During the week of February 2-5, we will register plungers at the Ramada Inn at 6th and Atlantic from 2 to 7 p.m.

Earn Prizes!

Yes, prizes! Compete against others teams for great polar prizes. Teams are placed in divisions based on size and are awarded for the most money raised and the largest team. The team divisions are as follows:
  • Division 1: 40+ Plungers
  • Division 2: 30-39 Plungers
  • Division 3: 20-29 Plungers
  • Division 4: 10-19 Plungers
  • Law Enforcement Teams
  • Restaurant Teams
