Cool School Challenge

Run. Plunge. Play. Repeat.                  

Join us Friday, Feb. 1 for the Cool School Challenge, an exclusive opportunity for school groups to take the Plunge and be part of the coolest thing in 2013. For just $100 raised, you can take the icy dip into the Atlantic, all while earning a Friday “pass” from school, potential community service credit, freezing photos and cool prizes.

The Cool School Challenge, presented by Walmart, starts Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m. between 6th-9th Streets; the actual Plunge is at noon. Registration details are below; if you have additional questions, please e-mail Linda Hollingsworth or call her at 757.962.1575.

1. Find a teacher to sponsor the team and have him/her register the group through firstgiving.

2. Have each team member register on firstgiving; when prompted, they should link to the team page. Note: non-school members (parents, etc.) can join your team.

3. Each team member then should create a personal fundraising page.

4. Start fundraising!

Cool School Exclusives

• Potential to earn community service credit
• Group photos of your team
• Costume contests – prizes for best dressed male and female
• Cool prizes - everyone will receive a long sleeve T-shirt just for being brave enough to take the challenge; the middle and high school teams who raise the most money also will win the traveling trophy for the year 

• Get 25 members to join your team on firstgiving and earn a $25 Walmart gift card
• If your team raises $2,500, earn an additional $75 Walmart gift card
• If your team raises $5,000, earn a $150 Walmart gift card (for a grand total of $175 that you can use for classroom supplies, personal items, whatever you choose!)
