As if freezin' for a reason wasn’t enough....
Extreme Team Challenge
The top two teams that raise the most money online through the team's firstgiving Web site will be awarded with some fantastic prizes and of course, bragging rights for the year.
In 2010, Special Olympics Area 11 took home 2nd prize ($1,000 gift certificate from the Supply Room Companies) while the top honor was awarded to University of Richmond's SAE fraternity ($5,000 gift certificate to Mega Office Furniture).
The deadline for contributions to be considered for the Extreme Team Challenge is 5 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011. Note that any donations received after 5 p.m. still count toward individual plunger incentives.

Costume Contest
Whether you dig up your favorite Halloween costume or get creative and fashion your own Superhero outfit, don't miss the Polar Plunge costume contest! Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume in 4 categories: Male, Female, Youth and Group. To enter the contest, be sure to register under the Main Tent by 1 p.m. Contest winners will be announced at 1:15 p.m. (also under the Main Tent).
If you do dress up, don't forget to also join us for the Boogie Down the Boardwalk Costume Parade. The parade is open to everyone; participants should meet at 6th Street at noon.
Other Prizes
Prizes also are awarded to the individual Plunger who raises the most money and the largest team. Additionally, all Plunge teams are placed in divisions based on size; within each division, a prize is awarded for the most money raised. The team divisions are as follows:
